We solve problems that other laboratories cannot solve
PLANNING
Instead of being a conventional immunology/biomarker unit, we decided to provide solutions to those problems most labs cannot provide. We provide disease-specific screens for autoimmune, cancerous or genetic diseases running tests for dozens of biomarkers (including conventional as well as unconventional markers). This has enabled us to provide test results for most markers associated with a specific disease and not just the most common ones which are usually tested by routine laboratories. For example, while a routine lab runs 3-5 tests per patient to provide a diagnostically-meaningful diagnostic result, we usually run 5 times more (15-30 tests per patient).
This has enabled us to increase our diagnostic accuracy and the prognostic significance of the obtained results to an ultimate level.
STRATEGY
We have identified an urgent need for screening tests encompassing the totality of a given disease (for example, systemic sclerosis, autoimmune inflammatory myopathies, multiple sclerosis etc). To address this need, we designed full spectrum disease profile testing (including autoantibody, antigen, cytokine, testing using a variety of immunological, immunobiological techniques such as ELISA, IIF, immunoblotting, PCR, flowcytometry, ELISpot).
This holistic approach significantly differs from that obtained using conventional tests of few markers (for example, few autoantibody specificities). The results obtained from the full-spectrum multiparametric tests enable prompt diagnosis and help designing therapeutic approaches including immunomodulatory treatments in the case of autoimmune or immune-mediated diseases, as well as anti-cancer agents.
RESULTS
The wealth of the obtained data from the multiparametric testing is presented in the threating physicians in a friendly, robust, easy-to-adopt format, either in the form of risk assessment, algorithms or positive and negative predictive scoring systems.
The treating doctors are continiously educated and are helping us to revise our reporting systems. The positive feedback that we get is helping us to design better profiling systems, targeted multiparametric analysis tests, as well as continuing education programmes.
